Scoop Operator – Underground Mine Construction

About the role

Thyssen Mining Construction of Canada is seeking experienced Scoop Operators for an underground mine construction project in British Columbia. The position follows a 2‑weeks‑on/2‑weeks‑off fly‑in‑fly‑out schedule and involves operating 4, 6 or 8‑yard scoops in a demanding underground environment.

Key responsibilities

• Operate 4/6/8‑yd scoops to load, transport and dump material safely.
• Follow all safety and environmental procedures while working underground.
• Perform routine equipment inspections and basic maintenance.
• Coordinate with the mine crew to meet production targets.
• Adhere to the rotational shift schedule and report any issues promptly.

Required profile

• Prior experience in underground mining operations.
• Ability to work varied schedules, including 2‑week rotations.
• Physically capable of performing demanding tasks in confined spaces.
• Willingness to pass a pre‑employment drug and alcohol test.
• Preference given to candidates residing in western Canada.
