Satellite Bus Flight Software Systems Engineer

About the role

The client, a leading spacecraft prime manufacturer, seeks a senior Satellite Bus Flight Software Systems Engineer to define, architect, integrate, verify, and ready flight software for current and next‑generation remote‑sensing and communications satellites. This systems‑engineering position bridges spacecraft architecture, embedded software, avionics, and mission operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead system‑level definition and architecture of flight software, including RTOS, PUS services, FDIR, autonomy, and payload interfaces.
• Develop and maintain requirement traceability, interface control documents, and verification plans covering SIL, HIL, fault‑injection, performance, and security testing.
• Coordinate with payload, platform, ground‑segment, and mission‑operations teams to resolve integration issues and support B&P phases.
• Mentor junior engineers, act as technical liaison with customers and vendors, and contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace, Computer Science, or Embedded Systems with 10+ years of fault‑tolerant embedded systems experience on LEO/MEO/GEO missions.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, communicate complex technical concepts in English (French is a plus), and manage requirements throughout the program lifecycle.
