Sales Associate – Retail (Part‑Time/Full‑Time)

About the role

Join the Once Upon a Child Nanaimo team in a fun, fast‑paced, family‑focused retail environment. The position offers part‑time (24 hrs/week) or full‑time (40 hrs/week) schedules with a starting wage of $18.25 per hour.

Key responsibilities

• Sort and evaluate children’s clothing, shoes, toys, baby gear and equipment for condition, brand, safety, demand and seasonality.
• Learn how to select and price items purchased from customers.
• Tag and process new inventory for the sales floor.
• Create attractive, organized merchandise displays.
• Operate the cash register and assist customers throughout the buying and selling process.
• Maintain a clean, organized and efficient store environment.
• Collaborate with a busy, energetic team.

Required profile

• Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
• Friendly, confident customer‑service skills.
• Reliable and dependable with weekend availability.
• Ability to multitask and stay productive in a fast‑paced setting.
• Strong attention to detail and organization.
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
• Retail experience is an asset but not required.
