Safety AV Engineer

About the role

CS Group Canada is seeking a Safety AV Engineer to join its Montreal team. The role focuses on the design, analysis and validation of safety‑critical features for advanced vehicle systems such as ADAS, electrical/electronic architecture, actuators and sensors.

Key responsibilities

• Perform functional safety analyses (FMEA, STPA, SOTIF) on advanced vehicle subsystems.
• Support verification and validation activities to ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Collaborate with software, electrical and vehicle subsystem teams to integrate safety requirements.
• Develop and maintain safety documentation, including requirements, hazard analyses and verification evidence.
• Identify and mitigate potential failure modes in vehicle components.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience with functional safety in automotive systems, preferably ISO 26262 and ISO 21448.
• Familiarity with ADAS or other advanced vehicle subsystems.
• Practical knowledge of FMEA, STPA or SOTIF methods.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
