Retail Manager – Stockyards

About the role

Join Canadian Tire’s vibrant Toronto store as a Retail Manager for the Stockyards department. You will lead a friendly team, ensure excellent customer service, and drive the department’s performance in a fast‑paced retail environment.

Key responsibilities

• Foster a culture that values excellent customer service.
• Maintain the quality of the department’s presentation to meet customer expectations.
• Plan and manage daily/weekly departmental activities, objectives and seasonal changeovers.
• Train, supervise, coach, motivate and support team members in their operations.
• Manage team performance, provide constructive feedback and recognize achievements.
• Assist with store opening and closing responsibilities.
• Help select and orient new employees.
• Resolve issues and conflicts while ensuring customer and employee satisfaction.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

Required profile

• Supervisory, leadership or managerial experience.
• Ability to work shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Approachable and strong communication skills.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, lift, carry items and use a ladder for up to 8 hours.
• Organizational, planning, delegation and follow‑up capabilities.
• Strong computer proficiency.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment and solve problems.
• Cash‑register operation experience (asset).
• At least one year of retail sales, execution or operations experience (asset).
