Retail Designer (Architect)

About the role

NORR is seeking a Retail Designer with an architectural background to create vibrant, commercially‑driven retail environments. You will work alongside a multidisciplinary design team to translate brand strategies into phygital experiences that boost sales per square foot.

Key responsibilities

• Compile and analyse project briefs, reports and published documents to define design requirements.
• Develop architectural and retail design concepts that meet quality, budget and schedule targets.
• Coordinate design intent with other disciplines, integrating engineering, MEP and structural systems.
• Prepare design reports, drawings and 3D models in accordance with office standards.
• Conduct site visits to verify compliance with construction documents and resolve deviations.
• Review shop drawings and project deliverables for adherence to codes and corporate quality controls.

Required profile

• 5‑10 years of experience across all project phases, preferably in retail or transportation projects.
• Post‑secondary education in architecture and registration with a relevant professional architectural association.
• Strong knowledge of building codes, MEP and structural systems.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp and Photoshop.
• Familiarity with MEP and structural building systems and applicable codes.
