Restoration Steeplejack

About the role

Heritage Restoration INC is seeking a skilled Restoration Steeplejack to work on heritage masonry projects across various locations. The role involves restoring, cleaning, and preserving historic structures while ensuring safety at height and in confined spaces.

Key responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints to determine work requirements.
• Instruct and mentor apprentices on site.
• Work at heights using scaffolding, swing stages, and aerial lift platforms.
• Lay bricks, stone, concrete blocks, and other masonry units for veneer facing.
• Erect scaffolding, swing stages, and attach rigging as needed.
• Caulk decks and hulls, restore, clean, or paint existing masonry structures.
• Apply waterproof coatings to concrete or masonry surfaces above or below ground level.

Required profile

• Other trades certificate or diploma, or equivalent experience.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in masonry or steeplejack work.
• Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in dusty, noisy, outdoor, wet/damp conditions.
• Physical capability to bend, crouch, kneel, lift heavy loads, and stand for extended periods.
• Certifications: Aerial lift and aerial work platform, suspended access equipment, Occupational Health and Safety, WHMIS, Forklift Operator.
• Accurate, organized, strong oral communication, and a team‑player attitude.
