About the role

The Restaurant Assistant Manager supports the overall operation of the Dairy Queen Grill & Chill location in Winnipeg. Reporting to the Restaurant Manager, you will help drive profitability, ensure high‑quality service, and maintain a safe, efficient environment.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and develop budgets for food, ingredients, supplies, and labor to maximize profit.
• Plan, organize, and evaluate daily restaurant operations.
• Recruit, schedule, train, supervise, and review performance of 5‑10 staff members.
• Implement operational procedures, balance cash, and complete financial reports.
• Maintain inventory, control costs, and ensure health‑and‑safety compliance.
• Negotiate catering contracts and support marketing initiatives.
• Address customer complaints, provide excellent service, and manage special events.

Required profile

• College/CEGEP education.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in restaurant or food‑service management.
• Smart Serve and First Aid certifications.
• Accurate, dependable, organized, and a strong team player.
• Excellent oral communication and client‑focused attitude.
