Residential Energy Specialist – L1 Site Surveyor

About the role

dcbel is seeking a Residential Energy Specialist – L1 Site Surveyor to act as the frontline technical validator for Ara Home Energy Station installations. The role involves visiting customer homes, confirming installation feasibility, educating homeowners, and collecting site data to ensure readiness for product delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Visit multiple customer homes daily to assess electrical panel capacity, available space, and placement feasibility for the Ara system.
• Explain the installation process, required upgrades, timeline, and set realistic expectations for homeowners.
• Gather site-specific inputs for permitting and utility interconnection, including photos, measurements, and configuration details.
• Upload structured site reports, flagging ready‑to‑install, conditional, or non‑viable sites for handoff to sales, operations, and installers.

Required profile

• 2+ years experience in customer sales or advisory roles with strong EQ and entrepreneurial mindset.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Willingness to travel 100% of the time, including occasional trips to other dcbel hubs.
• Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly to non‑technical customers.

Required skills

• Safe handling of power tools, hand tools, ladders, inverters, solar panels, panel boards, and batteries.
• Basic understanding of local permitting processes and utility interconnection requirements.
