Residence Worker – Emergency Youth Shelter

About the role
Join BGC Okanagan as a Residence Worker at the Emergency Youth Shelter in downtown Kelowna. You will provide direct, person‑centered support to youth, helping them meet physical, emotional, educational, housing and medical needs while building essential life skills.
Key responsibilities
- Participate in case management and care planning, conduct assessments and help develop Personal Service Plans (PSPs).
- Provide life‑skills training such as meal preparation, housekeeping, personal care and financial management.
- Transport and support residents to appointments, shopping and leisure activities.
- Promote safety, respond to emergencies and manage aggressive behaviours, including incident reporting.
- Administer or monitor medications and, if trained, provide Naloxone in emergencies.
- Maintain accurate records, logs, case notes and incident reports.
Required profile
- Certificate in a related human or social services field.
- Minimum one (1) year of recent, relevant experience (or equivalent combination of education, training and experience).
- Successful completion of a criminal record check and agency screening process.
