About the role
Huawei Canada's Noah’s Ark Lab is seeking a researcher to advance computer vision and multimodal foundation models. The role focuses on developing cutting‑edge algorithms and integrating them into spatial reasoning systems that support autonomous driving and other AI‑driven products.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct independent research and development in computer vision and multimodal foundation models.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to embed vision solutions into broader spatial reasoning platforms.
- Mentor junior engineers and interns, fostering an innovative team environment.
- Contribute to the intellectual property portfolio through patent filings and scholarly publications.
- Stay updated on the latest advances and proactively identify innovation opportunities.
Required profile
- Advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred) in Computer Science, Robotics, or related field with a focus on computer vision and multimodal foundation models.
- Strong publication record in top‑tier AI conferences or journals (e.g., CVPR, ICCV, NeurIPS).
- Proven ability to apply computer vision algorithms to real‑world applications.
Required skills
- Python programming.
- C++ programming.
- Deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow.
- Experience with spatial reasoning and foundation models (VLM, LLM, MLLM).
