Researcher – 3D Computer Vision and Generative Modeling

About the role

Huawei Canada’s Noah’s Ark Laboratory is seeking a senior researcher to lead independent research and development in 3D computer vision and generative modeling, contributing to cutting‑edge AI solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Independently contribute to research and development efforts within 3D computer vision and generative modeling.
• Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams to integrate solutions into real‑world applications.
• Mentor junior engineers and interns, fostering a collaborative environment.
• Contribute to the intellectual property portfolio through patent filings and publications.
• Stay abreast of the latest research and proactively identify innovation opportunities.
• Manage projects independently and deliver high‑quality results within established timelines.

Required profile

• Advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred) in Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field with a focus on computer vision and machine learning.
• Strong publication record in top‑tier conferences such as CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, AAAI, or SIGGRAPH.
• Excellent problem‑solving and analytical abilities.

Required skills

• Deep understanding of 3D computer vision and generative modeling algorithms, including 3D reconstruction, visual geometry transformers, Gaussian splatting, diffusion models, and multi‑modal generation.
• Proficiency in Python and/or C++ programming.
• Experience with deep learning frameworks, particularly PyTorch.
