About the role
The University of British Columbia’s Department of Emergency Medicine is seeking a Research Coordinator to support a national evaluation program focused on influenza surveillance, vaccine effectiveness, and pandemic preparedness. The role works within the Canadian Emergency Department Research Network (CEDRN) and collaborates with the Canadian Sentinel Practitioner Surveillance Network (SPSN).
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate multi‑site activities across emergency departments and public‑health partners.
- Implement surveillance protocols and ensure compliance with ethical, privacy, and data‑governance standards.
- Conduct epidemiologic and health‑services evaluation analyses.
- Prepare reports, scholarly manuscripts, and knowledge‑translation materials.
- Support data‑sharing agreements and contribute to large‑scale analyses for influenza monitoring.
Required profile
- Experience in epidemiology, infectious‑disease research, or related public‑health fields.
- Ability to work collaboratively with healthcare, academic, and government stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Required skills
- Data management and analysis for health surveillance.
- Familiarity with ethical and privacy regulations in research.
- Report writing and scientific manuscript preparation.
