About the role
The University of British Columbia is seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant/Technician to support a nationally funded SSHRC project developing trauma‑informed care guidelines for virtual abortion services. The role involves literature review, data synthesis, ethics documentation, and knowledge‑translation activities within a hybrid work setting.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare routine ethics application materials such as recruitment posters and consent forms.
- Conduct systematic searches of scientific literature and screen articles according to predefined criteria.
- Extract and synthesize data, draft reports, manuscripts, conference abstracts, and knowledge‑translation materials.
- Coordinate project logistics, schedule meetings, and maintain comprehensive research documentation.
- Develop and refine guideline content based on literature findings.
- Organise and facilitate focus groups or individual interviews, including qualitative data collection.
- Supervise undergraduate students participating in the project.
Required profile
- Experience in research support, ethics applications, and systematic literature reviews.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience supervising undergraduate students is preferred.
- Interest or background in sexual and reproductive health research is an asset.
