Research Assistant 2 – Life Sciences (Part‑time)

About the role

Under the supervision of the Research Director, the Research Assistant 2 will actively contribute to ongoing life‑sciences and bioengineering projects at McGill University. This part‑time, fixed‑term position involves both research execution and laboratory supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in the design, execution, and analysis of research projects.
• Manage administrative tasks such as budgeting, meeting coordination, minute‑taking, and grant/protocol writing.
• Supervise Research Assistant 1, undergraduate and graduate students, providing training and guidance.
• Develop research methods, design protocols, troubleshoot issues, and run simulations.
• Prepare reports, manuscripts, and contribute to publications.
• Engage in local, national, and international collaborations and attend group meetings.

Required profile

• PhD in Life Sciences, Bioengineering or a related field.
• Experience in project coordination, data analysis, and statistical methods.
• Strong scientific writing background (peer‑reviewed publications and grant applications).
• Fluent in French and English, both spoken and written.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently or within a team.
