Research and Clinical Trial Coordinator

About the role

The University of British Columbia’s Department of Medical Genetics is seeking a part‑time Research and Clinical Trial Coordinator to support the Lehman Research Group. The role will focus on coordinating small clinical trials at the Adult Metabolic Diseases Clinic, assisting the Principal Investigator with all phases of trial management.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate day‑to‑day activities of ongoing clinical trials, including participant recruitment, consent, and scheduling.
• Prepare and submit regulatory documents and maintain trial documentation in compliance with institutional and sponsor requirements.
• Manage trial data, ensure accurate entry, and support data quality checks.
• Track trial budgets, process invoices, and monitor financial expenditures.
• Facilitate communication among clinical staff, research team, sponsors, and external partners.
• Assist with preparation of reports, manuscripts, and presentations.

Required profile

• University degree or equivalent experience in health research, clinical trials, or related field.
• Experience working in a research or clinical environment, preferably with genetics or metabolic disease studies.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks under tight timelines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of clinical trial regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
• Proficiency in data management and documentation procedures.
• Ability to handle financial tracking and budgeting for research projects.
