Repair Technician – Hoist & Automation

About the role

The Hoist and Automation Repair Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing a range of lifting and rigging equipment, including manual and electric chain hoists, Kinesys automation systems, and related accessories. This full‑time position works in a workshop environment and supports the safe operation of entertainment‑industry equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Test, repair, and maintain electric and manual chain hoists and rigging equipment.
• Diagnose and fix electrical and mechanical faults, including circuit‑board level repairs.
• Modify and upgrade Christie Lites rental equipment to company standards.
• Order required parts and manage inventory of tools and components.
• Inspect and certify lifting equipment according to regional directives.
• Record all work in the Nexus Service software and upload certification documents to SharePoint.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure tools are returned to storage each shift.

Required skills

• Electrical troubleshooting and mechanical repair.
• Circuit‑board level electronic repair.
• Inspection and certification of lifting and rigging equipment.
• Familiarity with entertainment‑industry lifting and rigging terminology and safety practices.
• Proficiency with Nexus Service software.
• MS Office suite – Excel, Word, OneNote, OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams.
