Remote Electrical Estimator (Full‑Time)

About the role

Jacob Electric Ltd, a Canadian electrical contracting firm, seeks a qualified Electrical Engineer to work remotely as a Virtual Estimator. The role supports commercial electrical projects by preparing cost estimates, managing bid documentation, and tracking new opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Review commercial project drawings, specifications, and scopes of work.
• Prepare accurate electrical estimates, bid packages, and project submissions.
• Search for and track commercial project opportunities.
• Contact general contractors via email and phone to follow up on bids.
• Maintain and update the contractor database, Google Sheets, Excel files, and internal systems.
• Complete all required forms and submit daily activity reports with clear metrics.
• Organise project files, contractor information, bid deadlines, and follow‑up notes.
• Participate in video calls and meetings during working hours with camera on.
• Ensure full confidentiality of all company and project information.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
• Proven experience or strong knowledge in electrical estimating.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and schedules.
• Familiarity with commercial electrical projects and related materials.
