Remote Cybersecurity Intern (Canada Time Zones)

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Cybersecurity Intern to support the protection of systems, networks and data for our client. This remote position aligns with Canadian time zones and offers hands‑on experience in threat detection, vulnerability assessment and incident response.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze security alerts and incidents.
• Assist with vulnerability assessments and penetration testing activities.
• Identify and help mitigate security risks and threats.
• Participate in implementing and maintaining security controls and policies.
• Analyze logs from systems, networks and applications for suspicious activity.
• Support incident response processes and documentation.
• Research emerging cybersecurity threats and trends.
• Assist with compliance and audit‑related security tasks.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Security or a related field.
• Basic understanding of network security concepts such as firewalls, VPNs and IDS/IPS.
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems.
• Knowledge of core security principles (CIA triad, authentication, encryption) and web security basics (OWASP Top 10).
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work remotely in EU time zones and overlap with Canadian business hours.

• Relevant certifications (CompTIA Security+, CEH) – in progress or completed
