Remote Backend Engineer (Cloud & APIs)

About the role

We are looking for a Remote Backend Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable cloud‑based services and APIs. You will work closely with product, front‑end, and DevOps teams to turn business requirements into reliable technical solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and operate high‑performance backend services and RESTful APIs.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate requirements into technical designs.
• Optimize systems for reliability, security, and performance.
• Write clean, well‑documented, and thoroughly tested code following best practices.
• Participate in code reviews, mentor peers, and share technical knowledge.
• Monitor production, troubleshoot issues, and ensure rapid resolution.
• Contribute to architecture discussions and continuous infrastructure improvements.

Required profile

• Strong experience in backend development using modern programming languages.
• Proven ability to design and implement RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Solid understanding of relational and NoSQL databases and data modeling.
• Knowledge of authentication, authorization, and backend security best practices.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Familiarity with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in a remote team environment.
