Reliability and Maintenance Coordinator – Rail Projects

About the role

The RAM Coordinator will ensure that all systems, tracks, stations, and rolling stock interfaces on the Eglinton Crosstown West Extension (ECWE) project achieve maximum operational uptime and safety while controlling lifecycle costs. You will join a dynamic project team delivering a major sustainable urban mobility infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain reliability, availability, and maintainability (RAM) models for complex rail subsystems such as traction power, signaling, communications, and tunnel ventilation.
• Track and predict performance metrics including Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) and Mean Time To Repair (MTTR).
• Conduct Failure Mode, Effects, and Criticality Analyses (FMECA) to identify and mitigate design or construction faults early.
• Manage interface compliance across physical boundaries, especially between underground tunnels and the elevated guideway.
• Review technical submissions, spare‑parts lists, and maintenance programs from rail and systems subcontractors.
• Produce formal RAM validation reports for engineering sign‑off by Metrolinx, Infrastructure Ontario, and the TTC.
• Support testing and commissioning teams to meet operational availability targets.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, or Reliability Engineering.
• At least 3 years of experience in reliability, RAMS, or systems engineering within heavy civil, rail, or transit construction.

Required skills

• Proficiency with RAM engineering tools such as ReliaSoft, Isograph, or custom fault‑tree analysis software.
