Registered Practical Nurse – Part‑Time, Open Availability

About the role

Compass Homecare is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) for casual, part‑time work with open availability. The role involves providing high‑quality nursing care to clients in their homes, supporting their safety, comfort, and independence. Shifts range from 8 to 12 hours and may include overnight assignments based on client needs.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care according to individualized care plans and CNO standards.
• Administer medications, monitor therapeutic outcomes, and perform clinical procedures such as wound care and injections.
• Conduct health assessments and document client status using electronic charting systems.
• Assist with personal care and activities of daily living when required.
• Provide education, emotional support, and respite to clients and their families.
• Report significant health changes promptly to the care team.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and uphold a client‑centered care environment.

Required profile

• Current registration and good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario as an RPN.
• Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Negative TB test or chest X‑ray within the past 12 months.
• Valid Vulnerable Sector Check completed within the past 12 months.
• Reliable vehicle, valid driver’s licence, mobile phone and internet access for travel between client locations.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
