Registered Nurse (Temporary Part‑Time)

About the role

One temporary part‑time Registered Nurse position is available at Palmerston & District Hospital, part of North Wellington Health Care. The role provides comprehensive nursing care in line with the College of Nurses of Ontario standards and hospital policies.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver safe, patient‑centred nursing care across all hospital units.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing interventions.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care.
• Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to infection‑control protocols.
• Participate in emergency response and code situations.

Required profile

• Current Ontario RN Certificate of Competence.
• Valid BCLS certification; ACLS certification or willingness to obtain within 6 months.
• Maternal‑Child experience or relevant clinical exposure.
• Commitment to obtain NRP, cardiac monitoring, IV start, phlebotomy, and defibrillation competencies within specified timeframes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, critical‑thinking and organizational skills.
• Ability to work all shifts and all hospital areas.

• BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• Cardiac monitoring and ECG interpretation
• IV therapy initiation
• Phlebotomy
• Defibrillation
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) – recommended
• ENPC/PALS – recommended
