Registered Nurse – Part-Time (McCall Centre, 4th Floor)

About the role

The Registered Nurse will work on the 4th floor of the McCall Centre Rehab unit at Queensway Health Centre. This part‑time position covers 12‑hour day and night shifts, seven days a week including statutory holidays, and provides comprehensive nursing care to transitional chronic‑care patients as they prepare to return to the community.

Key responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments and contribute to individualized care plans.
• Deliver goal‑oriented treatments, patient and family education, and support for medical, cognitive, emotional and self‑care needs.
• Develop realistic discharge plans and act as a coach, mentor and consultant for the care team.
• Participate in program planning, continuous quality improvement and unit clinical leadership during shifts.
• Collaborate with interprofessional teams to ensure patient‑centered care.

Required profile

• Graduate of a recognized School of Nursing with a Baccalaureate degree.
• Current registration or eligibility for registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Current BCLS certification.
• Recent experience in inpatient medical and rehabilitation settings, including complex care needs.
• Knowledge of geriatric rehabilitative nursing practice and ability to provide educational resources to patients and families.
• Demonstrated critical thinking, problem‑solving and leadership within a team.
• Reliability, flexibility and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
