Registered Nurse – Dual Diagnosis Service (Full‑time)

About the role

The Registered Nurse will work in the Dual Diagnosis Services (DDS) program, providing assessment, therapeutic interventions and both mental health and general nursing care to adults with developmental disabilities and serious mental illness. The role follows a recovery‑focused model and requires collaboration with an interdisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments and deliver therapeutic interventions.
• Provide mental health and general nursing care using the nursing process.
• Develop, implement and evaluate individualized treatment plans, including life‑skills, recreation, counseling and group programming.
• Coordinate care as a nurse facilitator/care coordinator, including case management and documentation.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, social workers and other professionals to ensure integrated, recovery‑oriented care.

Required profile

• Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario in good standing.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and CPR Level HCP certifications.
• Knowledge of CNO Standards of Practice, the Mental Health Act and PHIPA.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership or preceptorship.
• Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills and a good attendance record.

• Proficiency with Meditech (preferred) and general computer use
