Registered Nurse Class A (RNCA) – Oncology – Saint John

About the role

Horizon Health is seeking a Registered Nurse Class A (RNCA) to deliver comprehensive oncology nursing care to patients and families in Saint John. The RN will work within an interdisciplinary team, planning, prioritising and implementing patient care while mentoring junior staff.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to cancer patients, including IV and chemotherapy administration.
• Document patient assessments, plans, interventions and outcomes accurately.
• Lead complex nursing situations and act as a resource for LPNAs and junior staff.
• Maintain confidentiality, adhere to Horizon Health policies and participate in ongoing education.
• Work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays, and ensure reliable attendance.

Required profile

• Graduated from an approved nursing program and current registration with the College of Nursing of New Brunswick.
• Minimum one year of oncology nursing experience and relevant RN experience within the past five years.
• Current CPR certification (recertified annually) and willingness to complete chemotherapy administration certification.
• Strong critical‑thinking, judgement and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
