Refrigeration Technician

About the role

Black & McDonald is seeking an experienced Service Refrigeration Technician to join its Service Division in Yorkton, Saskatchewan. The role involves maintaining and repairing a variety of refrigeration and HVAC systems while delivering excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain customers’ refrigeration systems, including RTUs and HVAC units.
• Inspect and service components such as compressors, condensers, evaporators, fan motors, and expansion valves.
• Perform system checks, troubleshooting, refrigerant recovery, and electrical/gas diagnostics.
• Complete daily service logs, refrigerant recovery reports, and other paperwork.
• Conduct safety inspections and ensure proper use of personal protective equipment.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Previous experience as an HVAC/Refrigeration technician.
• HVAC certification and soldering/brazing skills.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and local building codes.
• Physically fit, able to work outdoors in extreme weather and lift heavy equipment.
