Recreation Attendant – Part‑time Summer Role

About the role

The Recreation Attendant supports daily operations of the Currie Gymnasium, helping to promote and run intramural sports and recreational activities during the summer season. This part‑time position reports to the Intramural Assistant Manager and works closely with participants and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with the setup and takedown of sporting equipment and facilities for events.
• Maintain equipment inventory, perform quality checks, and report any issues.
• Support emergency procedures and ensure safety protocols are followed.
• Document program‑related incidents and provide nightly activity reports.
• Deliver courteous customer service to participants and answer inquiries.

Required profile

• 2–3 years of referee or relevant sport experience.
• High school diploma (or equivalent) and at least one year of related experience.
• Ability to work in both English and French.
• Authorization to work in Canada and willingness to work in Quebec.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with a diverse participant base.

Required skills

• Familiarity with intramural management platforms (preferred).
• Experience with McGill’s intramural community (asset).
