Quality Technician

About the role

The Quality Technician reports to the Senior Quality Control Specialist – Warehouse and ensures that incoming resale and raw materials meet all quality and safety specifications before they are released for production. This role involves sampling, testing, documentation validation, and close collaboration with procurement, shipping, and supplier teams.

Key responsibilities

• Obtain retain samples and conduct quality testing on incoming raw materials such as oils, vitamins, and minerals.
• Verify incoming paperwork, lot numbers, and certificates of analysis (COA) to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Investigate internal and external non‑conformances and coordinate corrective actions with suppliers, procurement, and replenishment teams.
• Assist the shipping/receiving team with troubleshooting, including trailer inspections, label verification, and damage assessments.
• Manage Returned Material Authorizations (RMA), determine re‑work eligibility, and perform any required internal testing.
• Support shelf‑life extension requests and update batch disposition status in the system.
• Document and track all quality‑related activities in accordance with HACCP, SQF, and GMP programs.

Required profile

• Science degree or diploma (Food Science is an asset).
• 1‑2 years of experience in food manufacturing or related quality control environments.
• Working knowledge of HACCP, food safety regulations, and GMP.
