Quality Control Supervisor (Nuclear)

About the role

Black & McDonald’s Power Generation team is seeking a qualified Quality Control Supervisor for its nuclear projects in Pickering. Reporting to the Quality Control Manager, you will lead the implementation of the company’s quality program, oversee QC inspectors and ensure compliance with client and regulatory standards on‑site.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor all work activities to verify adherence to applicable codes, standards and Black & McDonald quality requirements.
• Develop, review and authorize Inspection & Test Plans when not supplied by the client.
• Conduct receipt, in‑process and final inspections and tests, maintaining accurate records.
• Coordinate QC activities with project coordinators, subcontractors and external inspection agencies.
• Manage non‑conforming items, verify dispositions and prepare Manufacturer’s Data Reports.
• Supervise and mentor QC inspectors, ensuring proper use and calibration of measurement equipment.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities and pressure‑boundary jurisdictions to secure approvals.
• Support the implementation and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising QC personnel in a nuclear or heavy‑industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of relevant standards, codes and client quality programs.
• Ability to interpret and apply inspection and test procedures safely.
• Excellent communication skills and a safety‑first mindset.
