About the role
The Quality Assurance Composite Assembly Inspector will ensure that all composite components are inspected according to Airbus Helicopters' rigorous quality standards. This temporary, fixed‑term position involves performing visual, dimensional and non‑destructive inspections across multiple assembly stages.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct assembly, paint, trim, lay‑up, core and shipping inspections following detailed inspection plans and documentation.
- Record non‑conformities, apply red tags, and manage quarantine of non‑conforming parts.
- Lead root‑cause analysis and corrective actions using Rapid 5 Whys and 8D tools.
- Perform First Article Inspections to AS9102 standards and verify tool validity.
Required profile
- College diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of composite manufacturing/assembly inspection experience.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 and AS 9100 quality systems.
- Ability to work independently under broad supervision and meet tight schedules.
Required skills
- Composite inspection techniques (assembly, paint, lay‑up, core, trim, shipping).
- NDT/ultrasonic inspection (asset).
- First Article Inspection (AS9102) and measurement tools.
- Root‑cause analysis methods: Rapid 5 Whys, 8D.
- Interpretation of blueprints and inspection documents.
