About the role
The Digital Emergency Medicine program at UBC is seeking a Qualitative Research Analyst to support research on how digital technologies can improve emergency care. The role involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to design, conduct, and analyse qualitative studies that inform health‑technology interventions.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement qualitative research protocols, including interview guides and focus‑group plans.
- Conduct interviews and focus groups with patients, clinicians, and community stakeholders.
- Transcribe, code, and analyse qualitative data using appropriate software and methodological frameworks.
- Prepare clear reports, presentations, and academic manuscripts summarising findings.
- Assist with community engagement activities and digital health literacy initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with ethical standards and institutional research policies.
Required profile
- Graduate degree (MSc or PhD) in public health, social sciences, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience conducting qualitative research in health or digital health settings.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary research team.
