QA Engineer III – Functional & Automation Testing

About the role

The QA Engineer III will lead and execute functional quality assurance activities for complex banking and financial applications. This role combines strong manual testing expertise with practical automation experience to ensure end‑to‑end test coverage across backend processes, APIs, file‑based workflows and data validations.

Key responsibilities

• Own functional, regression, integration, system and end‑to‑end testing for complex banking applications and backend workflows.
• Analyze business and technical requirements, design test scenarios and identify coverage gaps early in the delivery lifecycle.
• Create and maintain test plans, detailed test cases, traceability matrices and execution reports.
• Perform database validation using SQL and verify API integrations with tools such as Postman.
• Develop, maintain and execute automated tests using Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Rest Assured or similar frameworks.
• Conduct defect analysis, provide clear reproduction steps and collaborate with engineering teams for resolution.
• Validate file‑based workflows, scheduled batch jobs and inter‑system data exchanges.
• Mentor junior QA engineers and contribute to process improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• 8+ years of software QA experience with strong manual testing and automation background.
• Hands‑on experience testing batch processing, event‑driven systems (Kafka) and data‑intensive pipelines.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or related field.
• Proven ability to own testing for complex releases, assess risks and ensure quality in an Agile environment.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
