Public Designer – Architecture

About the role

As a Public Designer you will join a multidisciplinary team to create architectural solutions for civic and government projects. You will work across all project phases, ensuring designs meet budget, aesthetic, and regulatory requirements while supporting community priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Compile and analyse information from reports and published documents to define project requirements.
• Develop architectural designs that satisfy quality, timeline, and budget constraints.
• Coordinate design intent with engineering, MEP, and structural disciplines.
• Integrate site survey data and field reviews, adhering to codes and jurisdictional standards.
• Prepare design reports, drawings, and 3‑D models following office standards.
• Conduct site visits to verify construction compliance and resolve deviations with owners and contractors.
• Review project products, services, and shop drawings for code and quality compliance.

Required profile

• 7‑10 years of architectural project experience, covering all project phases.
• Post‑secondary education in architecture or a related field.
• Experience with public sector projects is an asset.
• Registration with a professional architectural association is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Revit.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Proficiency in SketchUp.
• Proficiency in Photoshop.

What we offer

• Salary range: $70,000 – $105,000 CAD per year.
