PTO Technician (Part‑time, 24 hrs/week)

About the role

SGS is seeking a part‑time PTO Technician to support loading, washing, marine handling and emergency response activities at one of its sites. The role involves operating specialised equipment to move, clean and prepare various modes of transport for shipment.

Key responsibilities

• Load and unload rail cars, trucks or other transport modes, connect/disconnect them from process equipment, and complete all required documentation.
• Wash, inspect and repair items according to training, operate washing and drying equipment, and record status.
• For sites with marine operations, moor and unmoor vessels and connect/disconnect product cargo hoses.
• Act as Terminal Operator to ensure operability of process equipment, supply systems and site security, environmental and business controls.
• Respond to in‑plant emergencies using mobile firefighting equipment under the direction of the Site Emergency Response Leader.

Required profile

• Ability to follow procedures, checklists and regulations accurately.
• Physical capability to handle loading, washing and marine handling tasks.
• Willingness to work on‑site 24 hours per week on a part‑time schedule.

Required skills

• Operation of loading equipment (load arms, hoses, ground straps).
• Operation of washing and drying equipment.
• Marine mooring and cargo hose connection skills.
• Use of mobile firefighting equipment for emergency response.
