About the role
Wesley is seeking a dynamic, highly motivated Provincial Youth Outreach Worker to join its Brantford team. The role focuses on community outreach, prevention and intervention with at‑risk youth, helping them navigate services and pro‑social opportunities to improve outcomes.
Key responsibilities
- Reach out and engage at‑risk youth using the Stages of Change intervention model.
- Support youth in connecting to programs, services, and healthy development opportunities.
- Engage parents and families through referrals, groups, and community networks.
- Maintain collaborative relationships with professionals inside and outside the organization.
- Advocate with schools, police, and service providers to improve youth access to programs.
- Develop neighborhood demographic maps and identify community assets.
- Promote program awareness and maintain a visible community presence.
- Build partnerships with agencies, businesses, and informal groups to offer youth‑focused programs.
- Identify emerging issues, service gaps, and opportunities to build community capacity.
- Enter and maintain accurate service data in the TREAT database.
Required profile
- Child and Youth Worker Diploma or equivalent with at least one year of experience working with youth ages 12‑21.
- Understanding of historical and intergenerational trauma affecting Indigenous peoples and the urban Indigenous community.
- Knowledge of Indigenous and non‑Indigenous community supports and services for youth.
- Ability to establish trusting relationships and work both independently and as part of a team.
- Experience in community development and delivering group programs or workshops.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, primarily Tuesday to Saturday, 12 pm‑8 pm.
Required skills
- Experience using social media platforms such as Instagram and Tik Tok to share resources and program information.
- Proficiency in entering and maintaining service data in the TREAT database.
