Proofreader – Full‑time (Toronto)

About the role

As a Proofreader on the global Editorial team at Notified, an affiliate of Equiniti, you will ensure press releases are error‑free and correctly formatted before distribution to journalists and news terminals. The role combines meticulous editing with responsive customer service, supporting a diverse client base across public relations and investor relations.

Key responsibilities

• Review client press releases for grammatical, spelling and consistency errors (no fact‑checking).
• Format releases to match the client’s original layout as closely as possible.
• Provide phone and email support for client inquiries and service requests.
• Assist with regulatory filings such as SEDAR and EDGAR.
• Maintain client accounts, including email list updates, user additions and multimedia library management.
• Act as the primary contact for clients, offering administrative and consultative assistance.
• Collaborate with teammates and other departments, sharing knowledge of Notified products.
• Work occasional overtime, weekend on‑call shifts and holiday monitoring as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Marketing or related field (or equivalent work experience).
• 1–2 years of professional experience, preferably in a newswire or fast‑paced customer‑service environment.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to stay focused under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent time‑management and multitasking abilities.
