Project Specialist

About the role

The Project Specialist leads the planning, coordination and delivery of laboratory‑related projects for Bureau Veritas. This role provides technical leadership across laboratory design, field‑testing solutions and end‑to‑end project management, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct laboratory assessments, develop design packages and oversee implementation of facilities, equipment and supporting systems.
• Lead complex onsite and field‑testing solutions, defining scope, schedule, budget and coordinating multidisciplinary resources.
• Manage laboratory capital projects from initiation through commissioning, handover and close‑out, including risk assessments and change control.
• Develop and monitor project budgets, forecasts and financial performance while maintaining client and stakeholder relationships.
• Promote a strong safety and quality culture, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and company HSE policies.
• Coordinate with clients, internal departments, consultants, vendors and contractors to align project deliverables.

Required profile

• University degree or college diploma in Engineering (Process, Chemical, Mechanical) or related discipline.
• Minimum five years of experience in chemistry, petroleum, environmental, laboratory or construction environments.
• Formal project‑management training or certification preferred (e.g., PMI).
• Demonstrated ability to manage multidisciplinary teams, budgets and schedules.
