Project Manager – Harm Reduction & Overdose Response

About the role

The University of British Columbia Centre for Disease Control is seeking a full‑time Project Manager to lead harm reduction and overdose response evaluation initiatives. This grant‑funded position reports to the Physician Lead of the BCCDC Harm Reduction and Substance Use Services (HRSUS) and works within a collaborative public‑health environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead planning, execution, and evaluation of complex harm‑reduction projects, ensuring alignment with strategic public‑health goals.
• Collaborate with clinical staff, policy analysts, peer coordinators, and academic partners to develop evaluation frameworks, work plans, and knowledge‑translation strategies.
• Manage project budgets, contracts, invoicing, and reporting to ensure compliance with funding and organizational requirements.
• Oversee data collection, management, and analysis for evaluation activities.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to project staff, graduate students, and peers.

Required profile

• Full‑time, grant‑funded position with possible extension.
• Experience in managing public‑health or research evaluation projects.
• Ability to work under the supervision of a physician lead and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
