Project Manager – Faculty of Medicine Strategic Initiatives

About the role

The Faculty of Medicine at the University of British Columbia is seeking a Project Manager to lead the design, development, execution, and evaluation of projects that support its new strategic plan. Reporting to the Senior Advisor, the role will work independently and collaboratively with senior leadership and cross‑functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Define project scope, deliverables, timelines and resource requirements for strategic initiatives.
• Engage senior faculty leaders and diverse stakeholders to gather requirements, conduct analyses and document project charters, plans, risk registers and status reports.
• Monitor progress, manage change‑management activities, and ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget.
• Facilitate project meetings, capture decisions and action items, and communicate updates to all parties.
• Oversee project transition to operations, close‑out activities and lessons‑learned documentation.

Required profile

• Demonstrated ability to work independently with guidance, exercising high judgment and initiative.
• Experience managing multiple concurrent projects of varying size and complexity in a university or health‑care environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills to build productive relationships with senior academic and administrative leaders.
