Program Leader – School Age Childcare

About the role

BGC Okanagan is seeking casual Program Leaders to run school‑age childcare programs in its Kelowna and West Kelowna clubs. You will create safe, engaging after‑school experiences for children while supporting families and the broader community.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver diverse recreational, social and educational programs for school‑age children.
• Orient new families, supervise members, and ensure health, safety and wellness.
• Mentor and lead Activity Leaders, building relationships with children, youth and families.
• Transport members using club vans and prepare nutritious snacks and meals.
• Manage behaviour, enforce agency policies, safety standards and licensing regulations.

Required profile

• Education in childcare or experience planning and evaluating childcare programs.
• At least one year of recent related experience.
• First Aid certification and Food Safe (or willingness to obtain).
• Class 5 driver’s licence; willingness to obtain Class 4 licence.
• Minimum age 19 years and successful criminal record check.
