About the role
The Mother Tree program at the University of British Columbia is a leading Indigenous‑led forest stewardship initiative. As the Program Coordinator you will ensure that research, partnership and public‑facing activities run smoothly, supporting the growth and visibility of this innovative effort.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate scheduling and logistics for research meetings, engagement events, and partnership activities.
- Manage communications workflows, including public correspondence, meeting materials and engagement trackers.
- Provide administrative support such as inquiry triage, document preparation and record‑keeping.
- Support event planning, on‑site logistics and post‑event follow‑up.
- Liaise with faculty, staff, students, external organizations and the general public to maintain continuity across all Mother Tree activities.
Required profile
- Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion and initiative while handling competing priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working collaboratively in a research or academic environment.
- Capacity to work independently and seek guidance on complex issues.
