Production Assembler

About the role

The Production Assembler joins IEM Canada's manufacturing team in Surrey, BC, to build mechanical frames and electrical distribution equipment. You will receive training on both mechanical and electrical assembly processes while working in a safety‑focused, collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble mechanical frames, components, and electrical equipment according to engineering drawings, work instructions, and specifications.
• Operate hand and power tools safely, including screwdrivers, impact drivers, drills, tape measures, machinist squares, and T‑squares.
• Meet daily production schedules and productivity goals while maintaining quality standards.
• Inspect work throughout the process to ensure defect‑free products.
• Perform metal corrections and touch‑up painting as directed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area following 5S principles.
• Track performance metrics and lead Tier 2 daily management meetings.
• Coordinate with Planning, Materials, Quality, and Maintenance to ensure work‑center readiness.
• Support inventory organization, material handling, and workstation preparation.
• Participate in continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions and manufacturing documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.

Required skills

• Use of basic hand tools (screwdrivers, tape measures, machinist squares, T‑squares).
• Use of power tools (impact drivers, drills).
