Probationary Part-Time Family School Liaison Worker (0.5 FTE)

About the role

The St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Schools network is seeking a probationary, part-time Family School Liaison Worker to join Holy Trinity Academy in Drayton Valley. Working at 0.5 FTE, the successful candidate will support students, families and staff by providing expertise on attendance, mental health, behavior management and crisis intervention.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the school intervention team to consult on attendance, confidentiality, mental‑health and crisis matters.
• Provide staff training and resources on topics such as grief, trauma, self‑regulation and other wellbeing issues.
• Assist in planning, implementing and evaluating school‑based programs that promote family engagement and student success.
• Maintain a working knowledge of Catholic values and ensure they are reflected in liaison activities.
• Complete required background checks, including vulnerable sector and Children’s Intervention Record checks.

Required profile

• Degree in social work, education or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated ability to consult and collaborate within a multidisciplinary school team.
• Comfortable discussing sensitive topics such as mental health, trauma and crisis situations.
• Willingness to work in a Catholic school environment.
