Probabilistic Seismic Hazard Assessment Engineer

About the role

ALTEN Canada is seeking a specialised engineer to lead the review and analysis of Probabilistic Seismic Hazard Assessments (PSHA) for utility clients such as Bruce Power. The role combines technical expertise with stakeholder interaction to ensure robust seismic risk evaluations.

Key responsibilities

• Review and validate PSHA reports and related technical calculations.
• Interface with utility stakeholders to gather requirements and discuss findings.
• Prepare and review technical analyses supporting PSHA reviews.
• Conduct technical reviews of external Probabilistic Safety Assessments (PSA).
• Participate in client meetings and stakeholder discussions.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience with Probabilistic Seismic Hazard Assessments.
• Ontario Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) licence.
• Ability to analyse and critique technical reports and calculations.
• Experience in the nuclear sector is a plus, not mandatory.
• EPRI Seismic Probabilistic Risk Assessment training or equivalent experience.
• Background in seismic analysis for mining, oil & gas, or related sectors.
• Familiarity with CNSC (Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission) milestones.
