Private Home Child Caregiver

About the role

We are seeking a reliable child caregiver to join a private household in Toronto. The role involves caring for infants and children, maintaining a safe environment, and supporting the family’s daily routine.

Key responsibilities

• Change diapers and assist with toilet training.
• Sterilize bottles, prepare formulas and feed infants.
• Assume full responsibility for the household when parents are absent.
• Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties.
• Travel with the family, supervising children and handling housekeeping tasks on trips.
• Bathe, dress and feed infants and children.
• Instruct children in personal hygiene and social development.
• Keep records of daily activities and health information.
• Maintain a safe and healthy home environment.
• Organize games, outings and other activities.
• Prepare and serve nutritious meals.
• Prepare children for rest periods.
• Transport children to school, appointments and extracurricular activities.
• Tend to the emotional well‑being of the children.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation certificate.
• 1 to less than 7 months of child‑care experience.
• Criminal record check and references required.
• Availability for early mornings, evenings, weekends and overtime.
• Willingness to travel with the family as needed.
