Private Home Child Caregiver

About the role

This full‑time, permanent position is based in a private home in Calgary. The caregiver will assume full responsibility for the children’s well‑being and for maintaining a safe, nurturing household environment when the parents are away.

Key responsibilities

• Provide daily care for infants and children, including bathing, dressing, feeding and supervising activities.
• Plan and organise games, outings and educational activities that support social and personal development.
• Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks, and manage rest periods.
• Perform light housekeeping duties such as cleaning, laundry, ironing and maintaining household supplies.
• Transport children to school, appointments and extracurricular activities.
• Maintain accurate records of daily activities, health information and any incidents.
• Enforce discipline according to the parents’ guidelines and support children’s emotional well‑being.

Required profile

• Reliable, organized and able to work independently.
• Strong interpersonal skills, good judgement and initiative.
• Experience in child care is an asset but not mandatory.
