Private Home Child Care Provider

About the role

This full‑time position is based in the employer’s private home in Montréal. The caregiver will be responsible for the daily care of infants and children, as well as light household duties while the parents are away.

Key responsibilities

• Change diapers, sterilize bottles, prepare formula and feed children.
• Assume full responsibility for the household in the parents’ absence, including light housekeeping, laundry, ironing and cooking nutritious meals.
• Shop for food and household supplies and handle heavy loads up to 9 kg.
• Travel with the family, supervise children on trips, and assist with housekeeping duties while on the road.
• Bathe, dress, and prepare infants and children for rest periods.
• Discipline children according to parents’ methods and teach personal hygiene and social development.
• Maintain daily activity and health records, ensure a safe environment, and organize games and outings.
• Transport children to school, appointments and extracurricular activities.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation certificate.
• 1 to less than 2 years of experience in child care.
• Physically demanding work: handling loads up to 9 kg, repetitive tasks, and work under pressure.
• Strong attention to detail, client focus, excellent oral and written communication.
• Flexibility, initiative, good judgement, organization, reliability and teamwork.
• Criminal record check and references required.
