Primary Pod Educator (Grades 3-8) – Nature‑Based Learning

About the role

Hundred Acre Wood is seeking a passionate Primary Pod Educator to guide children aged 6‑13 through inquiry‑based, nature‑immersive learning. You will mentor students, design project‑driven lessons, and foster authentic relationships in an outdoor setting.

Key responsibilities

• Build meaningful relationships with students and families, understanding each child’s strengths and interests.
• Facilitate weekly one‑on‑one mentor meetings and guide child‑led investigations.
• Design and deliver learning experiences that integrate literacy, numeracy, research, and critical thinking with Ontario curriculum expectations.
• Lead outdoor activities such as hikes, woodworking projects, and seasonal investigations.
• Support whole‑child development by encouraging emotional regulation, resilience, and independence.

Required profile

• Experience working with multi‑age groups (grades 3‑8) in an educational setting.
• Commitment to nature‑based, inquiry‑driven pedagogy.
• Ability to adapt instruction to developmental stages from early explorers to systems thinkers.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
