About the role

The Primary Health Care Nurse In Charge leads the Health Centre in Faro, Yukon, delivering primary and emergency care to individuals and families in a remote community. Reporting to the Community Nursing Manager, the role blends direct patient care with supervisory and administrative responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and schedule health centre staff, ensuring efficient daily operations.
• Provide primary health assessments, diagnosis, treatment, and emergency care when physicians are unavailable.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate public health programs, education initiatives, and disease‑prevention activities.
• Maintain on‑call rotational emergency schedule and respond to after‑hours health needs.
• Collaborate with community agencies, health professionals, and clients while applying cultural competence.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with experience in primary and community health care.
• Ability to work independently in settings with limited physician and allied support.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
